Project: Update this couple’s living room (and first room you see when you walk into the house!) to function as a space for them to have dinner and watch the news at night, entertain large groups of people as well as one or two other couples, sit and read and do work, and play on the floor with their new baby and their baby’s friends and parents. The adjoining dining room also needed updating and it’s now a great space to pull up a high chair and feed the baby or insert the leaves into the table and have Thanksgiving dinner.
Design Challenge: In the living room, there was only one wall to put the TV on, and that’s where our design plan started. In the dining room, the couple wanted to keep the paint color so we started there and worked in some chic black and white accents to coordinate perfectly.
Best Part: Their new baby fit perfectly in the scoop of the black and white swivel ottoman and loved how it swiveled! And, they did have Thanksgiving dinner here!
