Before & After – Volunteer Safehouse Re-Design!

Today's Agenda

keeping cool & working through this not-so-average 90 degree day! Happy April!

Room and Board York Sofa, West Elm Mira Rug, West Elm Tulip Chairs, Wall Art, Family Room

I am so excited to finally share before & after photos of the completed safehouse redesign project! This was an amazing project and I am incredibly grateful to have been a part of it.  Thank you again to all my family and friends who donated to the cause! Your contributions really helped make it possible to get the best pieces for the space. I was in charge of re-designing the compact living/dining area that also served as the main entryway… Read More »

Stealth Lawyers…

Today's Agenda

Shopping with a favorite client! Rug, mirror, framing, table linens...

Nicole Lanteri, Lawyer Turned Interior Designer

As we were waiting for our flight back from London to DC last Wednesday, this little interview (my first!) that I did the week before went live.  Talk about feeling nervous!  Made me forget about any jitters about flying that’s for sure.  It is nice to feel nervous about things though, I hope it means you are pushing yourself to do things that are a little out of your comfort zone and help you grow. Well, no matter how I… Read More »

Today's Agenda

Amazingly fun photo shoot at my assistant's apartment this morning! Final photos to come!

nicolelanteri_wallpaper_design2

Never underestimate the big punch a powerful print can pack! As these inspiration images can attest, a small half-bath can be the perfect space to introduce big impact wallpaper: Whimsical & lovely find courtesy of UK blog, Orlando and the Fountain: A chic example from Lonny: From Elle Decor: From Design Sponge: From Home Furniture Catalogs: And now here are some of my favorite examples from my own work:

How to Ikea in Less than 2-hours…Lunch Included

Today's Agenda

Taping fun interview about my transition from lawyer to designer! Stay tuned!

Ikea RAND Rug

It is worth it. Take the day off. Go on a Wednesday. Go at Noon. There is no way you can lose. This is what the cash registers look like… And if you go with a plan, you will be well equipped to deal with unintended issues – such as a total remodel of the market floor. The most important thing is to have a plan but remain flexible enough to recognize Gold when you find it. Here – 3… Read More »

West Elm, I love this chair!

Today's Agenda

Client delivery day!!!

westelmvictorarmchair2

I love this chair.  It feeds right into that touch of prep that I can’t quite ever deny — that palm print is amazing and that green, well, you know how I feel about that green. Two of these would pair really well in a living room with a neutral sofa, a jute rug, black walls, and a pair of brass vintage table lamps on a Parsons Console Table in white lacquer.  Maybe it’s time to redecorate a little bit… Read More »

Furniture Selections for Our Volunteer Project

Today's Agenda

Making great progress on an install this week -- herringbone tiles being installed on the fireplace today!

On My Agenda Design Board for Doorways Project

I’m getting excited about this project!   And, very thankful for all of the donations friends and family have made — THANK YOU!!  We still have a little ways till our target goal of $2000 (about half of the costs of the furniture) and are hoping we can make it to that! I wanted to show you the furniture we selected — I think it’s a great combo of chic, comfortable and VERY durable which was key for this project. I’m… Read More »

A Fun Volunteer Project

Today's Agenda

An Ikea trip! You know I love a good Ikea trip...

Crate and Barrel Orange Poppy Print

At the end of the year, I was contacted by Michelle of the awesome blog Houseography (lots of great tips you can do at home actually!) about volunteering to take on the decorating of a room in a local safe house run by Doorways that was being remodeled by Sagatov Associates.  This kind of project had been on my list of goals for the business already so when the opportunity came to me I couldn’t say no. We were able… Read More »

Cuddly

Today's Agenda

It snowed this morning! Having grown up in Florida, just a little bit of snow still makes me giddy.

snowyday

It’s soooo cold out there right now!!   Wishing I had a pet to curl up with today.  A huge perk of my job is all of the fun pets I get to meet.  I try to capture them in the rooms we’ve designed too — some cooperate, others hide.  This guy loved his new room.   Perfect for an afternoon nap! And, we may bring Christmas music back at the office today.  Just a warning.  It’s that kinda day, ya know?

Colorful Guest Bedroom Design

Today's Agenda

It's cold outside!! Good thing we have a ton of design work to do from the warmth of the office!

nicolelanteri_guestbedroomdesign07

Over the holidays we visited my in-laws at their new house in Delaware.  It’s fun to see them so giddy about their new home and I’ve been thrilled to help them bring their home to life and get it started with furnishings and accessories.  It’s new construction so our approach has been to add color, texture and pattern in a cohesive way throughout the house to give the house some additional character and life but keeping in line with that… Read More »

Highlights from 2012!

Today's Agenda

Enjoying the last day of vacation!

IMG_6482

I do keep pinching myself that I have this amazing career and each day I wake up and do what I love to do.  It took a lot of work to get here and takes a lot of work to keep it going but I don’t mind that part of my job at all. 2012 was a big year for On My Agenda!  Most importantly, I was extremely fortunate to work with great clients and am proud of the work… Read More »
